Dr. Sophia Messini holds a PhD in Computational Analysis of Political Communication (2024), from the Dept. of Communication, Media and Culture @ Panteion University. She also holds a postgraduate diploma in “New Media and Journalism” from the same University, while her undergraduate studies were initially in the field of Accounting (2001-2005) at the School of Management and Economics, TEI of Western Greece, and subsequently in the field of Journalism (2008-2012), at the Department of Communication and Mass Media of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Her research interests focus on Communication and New Media, Journalism, Semiotic Analysis of Political Behavior, Data Science, Mining from social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook), Sentiment and Content Analysis, and Political Communication.
She is a member of the Hellenic Political Science Association, the Panhellenic Association of Media and Culture Scientists, and the Hellenic Semiotic Society.
